The Assembly 2009 did not only come to pray, but also to receive truths from God’s word which would bring edification, exhortation and comfort. Before he began his sermon, Rev. Ebenezer Markwei led the assembly in another time of worship which got the auditorium filled with the awesome glorious presence of God.

Afterwards Rev. Ebenezer Markwei begun his main sermon by presenting two vitals things needed to make meaningful impact in our generation – Information and Inspiration. He said the accurate information we receive become tools and with the right motivation we would be able to chalk giant strides in our country Ghana, our continent Africa and beyond.  He thus devoted about 15 minutes for faith proclamation of excellence in academics, businesses, and all endeavors, and prophetic declaration of high quality jobs after school as well as ascendancy to top positions in the country.

Speaking on the theme for the 2009 NIA, ‘The Government of the Nations Upon the Shoulders of Christ (Isaiah 9:6)’ he indicated that believers are the shoulders of Christ since we are His body and He (Christ), the head of the Church.  So it is believers who are actually supposed to control and dominate the governance of a nation because Christ gives the enablement. He charged all to create his or her atmosphere in the nation and dominate every aspect of it since that was the command given to the first man. He debunked the idea of placing the burden on Jesus giving the scenario that it was the head cloth of Jesus which was folded but not the body cloth; signifying that Christ (the Head) had completed his mission on earth but the Church (His body) which was born would have to continue His works of victory from thence.  Jesus is therefore waiting for the church to whom  he has transferred authority to triumph in this world by dominating every area of life including the governance of our nation.

The brave man Samson was the speaker’s central reference (Judges 16:1-3). He exhorted the intercessors gathered with the extraordinary bravery, strength and powers Samson demonstrated when he took the gates of the city of the Philistines on his shoulders to the hill of Hebron when they had shut up all avenues and secured all the gates. He also spoke of another power display of Samson when he slew thousand men with just the jaw of an ass (Judges 15:16). With these he noted that such domineering life should be our way of living to be able to take charge of our whole nation.

Another dose of exhaustive prayers followed which got people soaked in immensely. This time the focus was on empowerment for a dominating life. So the intercessors too had themselves worked on by the Holy Spirit as they interceded for their country and continent. This Holy Ghost session which Rev. Markwei directed was so intense and powerful, overwhelming both gents and ladies in prostration, shouts, cries and wailings in the spirit. The man of God closed that session saying that people were going to have angelic visitations to propel them into higher realms of in the spirit; a recipe for dominating the land.

The monetary anointing that was upon the reverend minister got him to raise amazing funds for the NIA secretariat. Probably what fueled the congregation to give bountifully was the account of the success stories of his giving life. To the amazement of the congregation he told of a 500,000 USD cheque he signed for a church overseas during a fundraising. He added that “God will not make anything for you until he takes from you” to say that as long as we want something from God we have to let go or set loose something we posses. Before Rev. Ebenezer Markwei took his seat, he prophesied and prayed into the lives of everyone who gave.
