The Sunday service which culminated the energizing 3-day Holy Ghost Convention brought the final startling empowerment needed to propel individuals to function in dynamic capacities. It was an extraordinary morning service as the manifest presence of the Holy Ghost swept over the whole congregation in glorious ministrations.

Speaking on the topic ‘Benefiting from the four dimensional relationship of the Holy Ghost’, Rev. Isaac Agyapong begun by demystifying the arguments about the triune God. He said thinking of the trinity as a Chemical phenomenon, as in, liquid water, ice water and gaseous water, isn’t the best way to understand such sensitive topic and we miss the truth when we do that. Many people carry the notion that the Father is greater than the Son, and the Son greater the Holy Spirit and that when we get to heaven we would find separate habitations for them. Another fallacy too is people’s belief that certain life issues and troubles are so critical that it requires the help of the Father Himselves rather than the Son or the Holy Spirit. He immediately discouraged the singing of the song, ‘……..God in three persons, blessed trinity’ saying the three IS God of equal authority.

The unsettled question that persist in the minds of people who even believe in the Godhood of Jesus  he said is, why Jesus is God, if he said something like ‘My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me’, in essence, why was God calling to God. He noted that Jesus Christ was a full man and a full God and that it was important for us to figure out in what capacity he spoke; whether as a man or as God. Presenting the justification for Jesus’ claims of equality with God from that statement, he implied that it was the physical Jesus speaking to the Spirit God inside- spoke Jesus like a man in that sense, though he was God. He had this ability because of his duality of nature.  He therefore said one shouldn’t make the mistake to regard the trinity as separate hierarchical persons.

The Holy Spirit, he also indicated, is not an actual name since ‘Holy’ is an adjective qualifying ‘Spirit’ distinguishing Him from other spirits, just as Father and Son aren’t actual names but titles. From Matt. 28:19 ‘Go ye therefore and teach all nations baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost’ and John 17:26 ‘And I have declared unto them thy name, and will declare it that the love wherewith thou hast loved me may be in them and I in them’ he revealed that the name of the Father, Son and the Holy Spirit is JESUS. He said in the Old Testament, God was named by what he did for his people such as Jehovah El Shaddai as their sufficiency God, Jehovah Jireh as God their provider and so on. However in the New Covenant God has revealed to us a an all-surpassing name which is an embodiment of all he is and did in times past and his abilities today, which is the name of JESUS. He pointed out that the Apostles in the book of Acts were not accused of their miracles because of the acts per se, but because of the name in which the miracles were performed. And so he exhorted all to cherish the treasure name which is given us by God, by whom we triumph in this life.

With these introductory presentations, subsequent deliveries made better meaning. The first of the four dimensional relationship of the Holy Ghost was relating to Him as the God of the Old Testament, of the gospel and of the present, whether we feel Him or not. In the Old Testament as Father of Nations, in the gospel as Savior of the world and the present a Spirit of dynamic power. He said one should never think of the Holy Spirit as a servant of Jesus Christ and the Father – He is the God who accomplished the works in the Old Testament days as well as in the gospel days and He is here with us too. That led to the second relationship; He With Us.  The Spirit dwells with us according to John 14:17 as God came to dwell physically with man earth (Matt. 1:23) and His presence drives ways all fear, so we should trust in ‘His Presence’ always. The third was He Upon Us, which he called the anointing, that is the power of God on us for service. He said any assignment God gives to a person, he gives special grace and that comes by the Holy Spirit coming upon us for execution. The last was He In Us for inner transformation. By relating to Him in us, he said, we would never loose our divine consciousness for daily living in victory. This four-level dimensional relationship, he implored all to have always for a triumphant victory in life.

Shortly afterward, he led the congregation into the Lord’s Supper which was another avenue to receive further empowerment to meaningful impact. Quite unusual of the service, the announcements were given next, to give way for intensive ministrations by the speaker.

The man of God requested for 15 chairs for those with chronic illness and other diseases to occupy them. He then ordered the prayer force members to surround them in prayer during which three divinely selected members from the congregation would be praying for each of them. It was a moment of joy for some, as the Spirit ministered to them in different forms of healing and for those who came upfront for the baptism of the Holy Spirit, their expectations were not cut short. The service came to an end with several minutes of faith proclamation, repeating after the speaker for the final unction to function.

So with the spiritual overhaul and divine empowerment that came with this 3-day Holy Ghost convention all partakers have been positioned for excellence and significant impact in all spheres of life. We give glory to the Lord for this ‘Unction to function’ which is about to storm campus KNUST and beyond.
