Leaders of PENSA - KNUST and others from the University Christian Community and beyond received bouts of stimulatory insights for impact in their various offices
, on Saturday evening at the Ayeduase Worship Centre, as part of the second day’s program of this year's Holy Ghost convention. The meeting was dubbed ‘Strong Meat Meeting’ by the speaker, signifying a gathering of the matured in Christ.Evangelist Isaac Agyapong started by presenting the global perspective on leadership saying the current model is team leadership. He noted that the era of strong men was over and it was time for people with diverse skills and giftings to come together to rather form strong institutions, in order to combat the issues of our world. Still on the global perspective of leadership, the man of God said it was necessary that every leader found out his calling and operate according to that office. He added, it is good to be inspired by a minister but one should also press on to imitate Christ and not just that preacher saying every leader must think according to his level of leadership. The man of God also pointed out that the new era of global leadership favors strategic planners. He defined strategic planning as “…that which answers tomorrow’s what, who, how and where’’, emphasizing that strategic planning anticipates the problems of tomorrow and makes provision for them today. Touching on the biblical perspective of leadership, Evangelist Agyapong enumerated five key principles. He began by saying that one’s charisma could bring people to him but his character can draw people away from him. He therefore stated that the first principle in biblical leadership is maintaining a good character. Next was recognizing the visionaries, the enablers and the sustainers of every commission of leadership. The rest were sensitivity to the Holy Spirit, sacrifice and waiting in prayer. He concluded by adding what he termed “item 13”. Here, he touched on keeping a nice appearance, maintaining a ‘savings culture’, keeping positive relationships and ‘bedmatics’. A short time was allocated for questions after his presentation. Though the program ended late the participants were still beaming with smiles as the impact of the message was truly felt. |
